AU – What did I learn?

If you’re from Mars and don’t know what AU stands for – it represents the largest gathering of geeky cad folk every year.  In other words – Autodesk University. It’s been held in Las Vegas for the last 2 years and will be for the next few years as well.  Lots of good networking, checking out what’s new, learning new tips…  good times.

So, i’m a tech support guy for a reseller, what can i learn?  The real truth is that while I take pride in supporting our clients, i would be foolish to think i have the market cornered on CAD tips & tricks. So, for the next few days, i’ll be recapping those little tidbits i found in this class or that one.

Today’s tip comes from this class – Roundabout Reconstruction Using Corridor Models. OK, so i learned a major task workflow here as well.  But what’s the biggest pain when trying to layout a design profile?  Knowing where you are on the alignment.  Apparently, there are some undocumented commands (surprise!) to help with this.

What you get is a ghosted line that appears on your profile if you’re hovering over the alignment OR over your alignment if hovering over the profile.  How cool is that?  OK, back to work…   More to follow!
