New Survey Extension for Civil 3D 2008

I have to admit i did not know about this and only found out about it by accident.  But isn’t that the way Franklin discovered Electricity? 🙂

But i digress.  For those in the survey comunity AND using Civil 3D, getting work done has been a small step back due to many factors.  But i am here to tell you that small steps are being made in the right direction.

To the story…

Rob Todd, a Professional Surveyor who works for Autodesk in New Hampshire has created a Survey Extension for Civil 3d 2008. The extension adds 2 commands: Translate Survey Network & Define Traverse Stations from Figures.  Here’s an excerpt:

Using the Translate Survey Network command you can perform a translation of a survey network, which is useful if you need to move the survey network from an assumed location to a known location. With the Define Traverse Stations from Figures command, you can automate the process of defining station values for a traverse before you perform a traverse analysis.

Included in the extension is a short read me file showing how to use the 2 commands. Below is the link to the extension and backgroud on the commands.
